The Goal of the Dating Coach Regulatory Committee:
To research, monitor, evaluate, and pro actively contribute to government and regulatory bodies in order to educate, articulate, and develop our growing profession of coaching as a self-regulated profession.
The IDCA Regulatory Committee was initially appointed in the summer of 2002 to support the Dating Coach Mission Statement and to protect and preserve the integrity of the Coaching profession. As a result of its works, the Board decided to appoint in 2007 an ongoing committee.
International Dating Coach Association Core Purpose:
To advance the art, science and practice of professional dating coaching.
Summary of the Current Regulatory Committee Charter:
For 2007, the Regulatory Committee of DC has been asked to do the following:
· Oversee the monitoring of regulatory issues around the globe.
· Develop and maintain an understanding of regulatory practices and attitudes in various jurisdictions.
· Respond to regulatory issues as the need arises, informing the Board of critical situations and acting on Board
policy.
· Develop structures, processes and documents to support the above.
· Develop strategic relationships with governments, boards, business leaders, and other coaching organizations involved or interested in regulation, proactively.
· Make policy recommendations to the DC Board.
What you can do:
We recommend IDCA member coaches review the reference information posted on the DC website, stay informed through their IDCA Chapter and through Dating Coaching World. Should you become aware of interest by your local (State or National) government to regulate coaching, or of a regulatory initiative, which could affect the practice of coaching, please advise the Committee and your local IDCA chapter.
